The storm is bringing rough seas, strong winds, coastal flooding, and difficult conditions from the Mid-Atlantic into New England. The Next Carnival Venezia Cruise Was Also Delayed
The weather disruption did not end with the ship’s arrival.
Carnival Venezia’s September 24 sailing from New York was delayed, and its Bermuda schedule was shortened. Instead of the longer planned visit, the ship’s Bermuda call was reduced to a single day.
Current itinerary information shows Carnival Venezia scheduled to sail from Manhattan on September 24, with its Bermuda visit occurring later in the sailing.

Vision of the Seas Gets a Completely Different Cruise
Royal Caribbean’s Vision of the Seas has experienced an even bigger disruption.
The ship was returning to Baltimore when the nor’easter caused its arrival to be delayed until approximately 2 p.m. on September 24, several hours later than the normal early-morning arrival.
But the bigger news involved the ship’s next sailing.
Vision of the Seas was originally scheduled to operate a 9-night Canada and New England cruise with visits to:
- Boston
- Portland, Maine
- Saint John, New Brunswick
- Halifax, Nova Scotia
That original itinerary has been replaced because of the weather.
Instead, Vision of the Seas is heading south toward Port Canaveral, Nassau, and Grand Bahama.
In other words, passengers who expected a fall cruise through New England and Atlantic Canada are now getting a much warmer vacation.
The change sends the ship more than 1,400 miles away from its original northern route.
Vision of the Seas Will Stay Overnight in Baltimore
The itinerary change wasn’t the only disruption for Vision of the Seas.
Because the ship was delayed returning to Baltimore, Royal Caribbean kept the ship in port overnight rather than sending it immediately into the storm.
The ship is scheduled to depart Baltimore at approximately 3 p.m. on Friday, September 25.
Embarkation was also pushed back several hours. Royal Caribbean told passengers that the terminal would open at 4:30 p.m., with guests required to be checked in and onboard by the evening deadline.

Royal Caribbean confirmed that prepaid excursions for the original ports would be cancelled and refunded as onboard credit.

That means passengers may have lost their original plans, but the cruise itself is continuing with a completely different route.
